SAMG Entertainment and KIA Tigers Reunite for Retro-Themed “Teenieping” Children’s Day Event
SAMG Entertainment(CEO Suhoon Kim), a global IP content company, is renewing its partnership with the KBO League’s KIA Tigers for a Children’s Day collaboration, following last year’s limited-edition jersey release that quickly sold out.
The four-day “Teenieping Day” event will run from May 1–3 and May 5, which is observed as Children’s Day in South Korea, at Gwangju-KIA Champions Field.
This year’s theme, “Fearsome Tigers Teenieping”, reflects a retro-inspired reinterpretation of SAMG Entertainment’s flagship Catch! Teenieping IP, incorporating elements of the KIA Tigers’ legacy. The concept is intended to appeal to both younger audiences and longtime fans through a mix of familiar character appeal and nostalgic design cues.
The merchandise lineup has expanded to 26 items, including authentic and replica jerseys, caps and commemorative baseballs, as well as character-based products such as plush toys and accessories. Select items will also be released later through SAMG Entertainment’s retail channels THE TEENIEPING, both online and offline.
Industry observers view the collaboration as an example of how character IP and sports can generate mutual benefits. By bringing together family-oriented consumers and a regionally rooted fan base, the partnership has translated fan engagement into retail demand.
A SAMG Entertainment representative said the company focused on delivering a more immersive IP experience this year, building on the strong response from fans in 2025. The company added that it plans to continue expanding partnerships across sports and other sectors to develop IP-based experiences that appeal across generations.
