- – Strategic Distribution Partnership With BY4M Studio Targets Family and Gen Z Audiences
Global IP content company SAMG Entertainment (CEO Suhoon Kim) has announced the summer theatrical release of “Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone”, the sequel to its 2024 animated hit “Heartsping: Love of Teenieping”.
The first film drew 1.24 million moviegoers, ranking among the top three highest-grossing Korean animated films of all time. The story centered on the first meeting between Romi and Heartsping, exploring the beginnings of their friendship.
The upcoming sequel takes their adventure into a mysterious oceanic world built around the secret of a legendary heartstone hidden beneath the sea, expanding the emotional scope and visual scale of the franchise.
To mark Heartsping’s birthday on March 6, SAMG Entertainment unveiled the film’s launch artwork — a luminous underwater scene showing Romi and Heartsping facing a majestic whale gliding through deep-sea canyons, hinting at the franchise’s expansion into a spectacular marine setting.
For distribution, SAMG Entertainment has partnered with BY4M Studio, one of Korea’s fastest-growing film distributors. The company ranked second in the Korean box-office distribution market in 2025, recording 78.3 billion won in revenue.
The partnership will leverage BY4M’s digital content network and data-driven social marketing platform, which reaches 25 million monthly users, to target family audiences while expanding the film’s reach among Gen Z audiences and global fans.
A SAMG Entertainment spokesperson said, “This new feature represents an important milestone for the expansion of SAMG Entertainment’s IP universe. Through our partnership with BY4M, we aim not only to achieve strong theatrical performance but also to further develop the IP through merchandise and licensing opportunities.”
