SAMG Entertainment’s New Series “Wish Cat Magic Card” Premieres March 8 on SBS

  • – Magical-Girl Fantasy Action Expands Original Universe, Teams Up with NCT WISH

The hit animated series “Wish Cat,” which aired on SBS and Tooniverse in 2024, is returning with a new season. Global IP content company SAMG Entertainment (CEO Suhoon Kim) will launch its latest title, “Wish Cat Magic Card,” on March 8 at 7:25 a.m. KST on SBS.

“Wish Cat Magic Card” is an 11‑minute, 26‑episode 3D TV series that expands the universe of the original “Wish Cat.” While the first season focused on Anna and Iemeow, a mysterious cat who arrives in the peaceful human town of Nyantababara, and their growth and friendship, the new season evolves into full magical‑girl fantasy action. Anna transforms into a heroine, taking on forces that threaten the human world, creating a more dynamic and adventurous storyline.

The season also introduces Jet, a new black cat character who challenges the Wish Cat Kingdom’s credo that “even the smallest wish deserves to be granted with care.” Jet fulfills wishes in unexpected ways, sometimes causing confusion among friends and neighbors. In response, Anna and the Wish Cats use their Magic Card Phones and individual magical abilities to resolve each incident. From super speed and high jumps to time manipulation, each Wish Cat brings a unique skill set, promising a variety of exciting action sequences. The production team notes that tightly choreographed action and refined visuals enhance immersion while keeping the series’ signature comedic charm.

“Wish Cat Magic Card” has already drawn attention thanks to a collaboration with SM Entertainment’s rookie group NCT WISH. In January, SAMG Entertainment unveiled Wish Cat characters inspired by the members’ concepts, along with the Season 2 OST “Wishing Star,” performed by NCT WISH. Domestic and international fans are eagerly watching to see if these collaboration characters will appear in the broadcast episodes.

A SAMG Entertainment representative said, “In this new series, magic isn’t just about granting wishes—it’s about realizing how much you’ve grown along the way. By combining a magical-girl framework with upgraded action, we aim to deliver a highly polished series that fans can fully immerse themselves in and enjoy.”
