Following the success of the ‘Miniforce’ and ‘Catch! Teenieping’ series, SAMG Entertainment (Suhoon Kim / CEO, hereafter SAMG) is expanding into China with its new series, ‘Metal Cardbot.

SAMG announced on the 7th that the first season of the 3D animated action robot series, ‘Metal Cardbot,’ has commenced broadcasting on Chinese OTT platforms and TV.

‘Metal Cardbot’ simultaneously launched on China’s top four OTT platforms – Youku, Tencent, IQIYI, and Mango – on the 3rd. With a total of over 300 million paid subscribers on these four major OTT channels, it is expected that the Metal Card Bot fandom will be quickly established in China.

Moreover, starting with China’s largest kids’ TV channel, ‘Jin Ying Cartoon (金鹰卡通),’ which is viewed by more than 200 million households, Metal Cardbot will sequentially air on a total of 36 broadcasting stations, including ‘KAKU’ and ‘JIAJIA Cartoon.’ The airing times are scheduled during prime kids’ channel hours (19:30 to 20:45).

Metal Cardbot is an action-packed robot animation launched by SAMG in March. Since its launch, it quickly became one of the top three intellectual properties (IPs) in the country, surpassing a 3% viewership rating. Fueled by this success, SAMG confirmed the production of seasons 2 and 3 early on.

Leveraging its successful experience with the ‘Miniforce’ and ‘Catch! Teenieping’ series in the Chinese market, SAMG aims to grow Metal Cardbot into another hit IP in China. Particularly, Metal Cardbot combines the popular elements of collectible cards and robots, contributing to high expectations for its success in the Chinese market.

An official from SAMG state, “Metal Cardbot, designed as a collectible robot series, has gained immense popularity among fans, often referred to as the ‘robot version of Catch! Teenieping.’ With the China launch as a catalyst, we plan to significantly expand the global fandom of Metal Cardbot.
