SAMG Entertainment’s ‘Metal Cardbot’ Hits Big in China and Russia, Accelerates Global Expansion on Season 3 Momentum

– Claims No. 1 viewership in China and No. 5 in Russia, proving global IP competitiveness
– Domestic hit ‘Metal Cardbot W’ delivers steady ratings, fueling content-toy synergy

Global IP content company SAMG Entertainment (KOSDAQ: 419530, CEO Suhoon Kim) is solidifying its international clout as its animated series Metal Cardbot achieves breakout success in key overseas markets. Following major milestones in China and Russia, the third season is also posting solid domestic ratings, converting brand buzz into multi-platform momentum.

Metal Cardbot S (Season 2 Part 2), launched in China last August, topped real-time viewership on major OTT platforms including iQIYI, Youku, and Tencent Video, as well as the leading kids’ channel Jinying Cartoon. The series has surpassed 500 million cumulative views in new media and ranked No. 1 among brands (No. 2 overall) in robot-related searches on Taobao, China’s largest e-commerce site—underscoring the IP’s growing market presence

In Russia, Season 1 ranked fifth in overall animation ratings during its broadcast on the state-run kids’ channel, Karusel. Building on this local popularity, the franchise plans to sustain its momentum by premiering Season 2 on January 23 (local time). Meanwhile, in Taiwan, he brand is expanding its presence with Season 1 toys being exported in the second half of 2025.

Domestically, Metal Cardbot W (Season 3) reached a peak target demographic rating of 16.4%, maintaining a strong performance streak. The series pushes beyond traditional mecha genre norms by blending enhanced character dynamics and emotional storytelling with card-collecting and robot transformations, attracting both younger viewers and adult fans.

Toy sales are surging in tandem with the show’s popularity. Pre-orders for Metal Cardbot W began on November 7 last year, with sales accelerating post-December 4 premiere amid holiday demand. Core items have largely sold out their initial production runs, demonstrating a highly effective “content-to-merchandise” virtuous cycle.

A SAMG Entertainment representative said, “Metal Cardbot demonstrates its borderless, age-spanning IP potential. We will continue to drive global expansion, building on the domestic success of Season 3.”
