SAMG Entertainment Launches Lunar New Year ‘Hanbok MYPING’ Under THE TEENIEPING, Strengthening K-Heritage Strategy

  • – Available at Seongsu flagship store and online
  • – Traditional aesthetics such as mother-of-pearl and ink-wash art extend IP business

Global IP content company SAMG Entertainment (CEO Suhoon Kim) has launched Lunar New Year-themed custom figures titled ‘Hanbok MYPING’, along with a new series of traditional concept goods, under its unified IP brand THE TEENIEPING, on February 11.

MYPING is a brand rooted in the THE TEENIEPING universe, encompassing a wide range of product lines including customizable figures, plush toys, and art toys. Through MYPING, SAMG Entertainment is positioning its characters beyond collectibles, evolving them into experience-driven IPs that fans can actively choose, design, and engage with.

Released in celebration of the Lunar New Year, Hanbok MYPING offers a variety of traditional Korean attire options, including hanbok silhouettes, ayam headpieces, danggi ribbons, dopo robes paired with gat hats, and gonryongpo ceremonial robes. By reinterpreting traditional hanbok forms and color palettes through THE TEENIEPING’s distinctive visual language, the collection presents differentiated collectible value for fans in Korea and overseas.

The release aligns with SAMG Entertainment’s broader IP strategy of bridging K-content with Korean cultural heritage. In December last year, the company introduced K-heritage-themed goods inspired by its flagship IP ‘Catch! Teenieping’ Season 6, ‘Princess Catch! Teenieping,’ including modern reinterpretations of mother-of-pearl norigae keyrings, passport cases, magnet sets, and hand mirror charms. These items received positive responses from fans both domestically and internationally.

Building on that momentum, THE TEENIEPING is also unveiling 26 new goods featuring the elegant aesthetic of traditional Korean ink-and-color painting (sumukdamchehwa) for the first time under the brand. The lineup includes patchwork-patterned handkerchiefs, dancheong-inspired card sets, and traditional costume stickers, blending Korean visual heritage into everyday lifestyle items. All products are available exclusively through THE TEENIEPING’s online and offline stores.

Meanwhile, the flagship store THE TEENIEPING Seongsu will host immersive offline events spanning Valentine’s Day and the Lunar New Year holiday. From February 13 to 14, Teenieping characters—including Heartsping—will meet fans at the store and nearby streets, offering opportunities to encounter the IP universe in everyday urban settings. On February 15, the store will hold Lunar New Year-themed interactive events with Teenieping characters, alongside hands-on MYPING Board experiences and social media participation programs designed for couples and families.

A representative from SAMG Entertainment said, “The Hanbok MYPING figures and traditional goods released for the Lunar New Year represent our ongoing effort to combine K-content with Korea’s cultural aesthetics through IP-driven storytelling,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our IP competitiveness by connecting online and offline platforms, allowing global fans to engage with THE TEENIEPING universe in more diverse and meaningful ways.”
