  • – CEO Suhoon Kim stated, ‘We have completed preparations for the ‘Family Platform’ and are transforming into a new company this year.’

Starting with the opening of ‘Teenieping World Pangyo (tentative name)’ at the end of the year, SAMG Entertainment (CEO Suhoon Kim) is taking a leap into a full-fledged family platform company. They aim to complete a business model that encompasses ‘content-MD-theme space’ and attract 2.5 million of their own membership members by 2026.

SAMG Entertainment announced that they held the ‘2023 Second Half VIP Business Briefing’ on the 30th at the InterContinental Hotel in Samseong-dong, Seoul. This briefing was organized to share ▲SAMG Entertainment’s long-term vision ▲to introduce new seasons of ‘Catch! Teenieping,’ ‘Miniforce,’ ‘Lulupop’ ▲and discuss plans for the theme space business.

On that day, SAMG Entertainment announced its plan for the theme space business as part of its leap into the ‘Family Platform.’ The key strategy revolves around SAMG Entertainment developing and distributing merchandise (MD) such as toys and F&B directly for IP fandoms like ‘Catch! Teenieping.’ Additionally, SAMG Entertainment will personally design the spaces where these products are consumed.

The first themed space to be introduced by SAMG Entertainment is called ‘Teenieping World Pangyo (tentative name).’ This year, for the Christmas season, they will create a Teenieping-themed space of approximately 600 square meters on the basement and ground floors of Pangyo PAMEUS MALL. ‘Pangyo Teenieping World (tentative name)’ will be designed as a ▲media immersive experience cafe ▲store and cultural play area ▲bakery cafe ▲costume experience space.

CEO Suhoon Kim stated, ” ‘Teenieping World Pangyo’ represents SAMG Entertainment’s inaugural theme space business model.” He also mentioned, “In conjunction with the opening of ‘Teenieping World Pangyo’ during the peak Christmas season, we will conduct large-scale character pop-up promotions at 10 locations, once again showcasing the power of our IP.

SAMG Entertainment plans to expand its urban-themed theme spaces and theme stores based on intellectual property (IP) across major regions in South Korea, starting with ‘Teenieping World Pangyo (tentative name),’ until 2026. They aim to begin with 1 million theme space visitors and 300,000 self-owned membership members this year and eventually secure 5 million annual theme space visitors and 2.5 million self-owned membership members by 2026.

SAMG Entertainment’s ‘Family Platform Ecosystem’ strategy also applies to IP launches. The new season of ‘Catch! Teenieping,’ called ‘Dessert Catch! Teeneping,’ will have a launch show and the first two episodes premiered on SAMG Entertainment’s official YouTube channel on September 22. They plan to actively use their YouTube channel, which has a subscriber count of 49 million, as well as over-the-top (OTT) platforms.

CEO Kim stated, “The domestic kids’ market has had many potential IPs, but there hasn’t been a case where businesses were developed around IP.” He further mentioned, “SAMG Entertainment has prepared not only the ability to create IP but also MD development, distribution capabilities, and theme space business capabilities. Therefore, starting from the second half of this year, we will complete a completely new business model that has not been seen in the domestic kids’ industry.
