“Hajimemashite Chu!” – SAMG Entertainment’s Twinkle Catch! Teenieping Debuts on Japanese TV; Season 2 Merch Hits Local Stores

-Season 2 of Catch! Teenieping, known as Twinkle Catch! Teenieping, began airing on October 5 on Japan’s Kids Station channel.
-Merchandise for Season 2 launched on October 17 across 1,200 major offline retailers in Japan, including Toys “R” Us and JOSHIN.
-With annual revenue doubling in China, SAMG Entertainment expects Japanese merchandise sales to drive further IP growth globally.

The beloved character “Heartsping” from the hit Korean animated film Heartsping: Teenieping of Love, which attracted 1.2 million viewers domestically, has made a colorful entrance into Japanese offline stores.
SAMG Entertainment (CEO Suhoon Kim) announced that its flagship IP, Catch! Teenieping, has entered the Japanese market with the second season, Twinkle Catch! Teenieping, now airing on Kids Station and with corresponding merchandise hitting shelves in offline retailers.

The Catch! Teenieping Season 2 merchandise, including plush dolls and toys created by SAMG, went on sale at over 1,200 stores across Japan—such as Toys “R” Us and JOSHIN—starting October 17. “With Catch! Teenieping offering a cast of adorable characters and broad storylines, we see great potential for success in Japan,” a representative from Japanese toy manufacturer Lyric said. “Sales began on October 17 at major offline stores like Toys “R” Us, Yodobashi Camera, and Harajuku Kiddy Land, and we plan to expand to other cities across Japan soon.”

Following the debut of Season 1 in Japan in 2022, Season 2 now expands its reach to a broad array of Japanese platforms, having premiered on Kids Station on October 5. Subsequent broadcasts are planned across terrestrial channels such as TOKYO MX and TV Osaka. The show will also stream on YouTube, global OTT services like Amazon Prime, and Japan’s native OTT channels, including U-NEXT and DMM.

SAMG Entertainment views the merchandise launch as a significant milestone for its journey toward becoming a global IP powerhouse.

“This Japanese market entry is part of SAMG’s global IP expansion strategy,” said Miseon Song, head of SAMG’s Japan planning team. “We’ve validated the potential for success here with internal data, which has allowed us to enter confidently. Alongside toy sales, we’re expanding character-based business opportunities and are evaluating additional product launches for Season 3.”

SAMG’s global IP expansion strategy has already achieved impressive results in China. After introducing the Teenieping series there in 2021, SAMG has seen consistent growth, releasing a new season each year, achieving 8.3 billion KRW (approximately $6 million) in merchandise sales by 2023, and around 10 billion KRW (roughly $7 million) in the first half of this year.

“Since 2021, sales in China have doubled yearly,” a SAMG representative noted. “With a similar strategy in Japan, we’ve built awareness with Season 1 and are now launching Season 2’s IP and merchandise together. We expect Japan to become another strong revenue stream as SAMG’s global reach expands.”
